6 steps to easy makeup
To get the perfect look by applying makeup is not easy. It requires a lot of effort and steps to get the “natural makeup look” which can also look like a “no makeup look”. It requires a balance between a glowing skin and the “I just woke up with a perfect bushy brow” appearance. It requires quite an amount of makeup to nail the natural look. Listed below are easy steps on how to apply makeup correctly for a wonderful effect. Here are the perfect six steps to get the natural look these you can tweak to your needs.
STEP 1: Prep
You need to start by first preparing the skin for makeup by applying a thin layer of moisturizer. Your skin needs to be hydrated and plump. This is the key to getting the perfect natural skin/makeup.
STEP 2: Base
Start with a light to medium coverage foundation or a BB cream or CC cream with SPF 50+, stipple it on with a flat brush or blending sponge. This will make sure that the makeup lasts from day into night. If you are looking to make a seamless blend use a damp beauty sponge to make sure there are no lines or streaks. If required, pat concealer under the eyes. You need to choose a shade which is two shades lighter than the natural foundation to brighten up the area and to cover dark circles and discoloration. To get a luminous look, apply concealer to the chin, bridge of nose and forehead and then blend.
STEP 3: Cheeks
Put blush on the apples of your cheeks, to give the face extra color. Blend it so that the color is not concentrated in one area only. To give it a natural finish, you will need to make it look diffused and soft. Give your skin tone a warm look with a bronzer of your choice. Apply it under the cheekbones, jawline and along the temples.
STEP 4: Eyebrows
Use a spoolie brush on the brows, fill them either with a pencil or an eyebrow powder. The later makes the brows look precise and prominent while the powders give a diffused look. A pencil will help make creating hair like strokes easy.
STEP 5: Eyes
You need to apply a warm eyeshadow to your crease. Swipe a neutral shade on the lower lid. Blend, for this use a palette that has lots of brown shades, so you can experiment with the colors and tones which is best for you. Apply a single coat of mascara to the top and bottom lashes. Wiggle the wand such that every single lash gets applied with mascara.
STEP 6: Lips
To complete the look, you can wear a nude lip gloss or pink gloss which compliments your skin tone. The YSL Volupte comes in eight shades of pink. If you do your lips, lashes, and brows first your face will be almost done and you will need to apply very little of base making your skin appear like skin.
When you are choosing textures it is best if you go cream finishes as opposed to powder. As powder can crease, it sits on fine lines and not look natural. You can also change the foundation for a tinted moisturizer, as full coverage foundation will mask the skin. Tinted moisturizer will only conceal areas you need to. While applying the concealer look only for the dark areas and red areas and conceal those with a creamy blend. Use a small brush or fingers to conceal as it will give a natural finish.
