Here’s how you should apply false lashes
Handling false lash strips can require a lot of effort for the starts. Dropping tiny wigs of fake lashes onto your lash line can prove to be a task as tedious as building a tiny dollhouse itself. It always looks and sounds comparatively easier in theory than when it comes to actually doing it.
Fret not! Because with a few simple steps and a little effort, you can always get your lash strips right in place. Herein, we provide you with the right steps to the application of false lash strips to achieve that perfect look.
Trim each of the eyelash strips
Measure the strip of false eyelashes against your actual eyelid and trim off the excess. The extra bit can be used later to stack up on your lash strip towards the outer corners of your eye or if you want a little more emphasis on top of your natural lashes. Starting off with an inexpensive set of lashes will prove to be a huge savior even if you go wrong.
Strategically apply lash glue
Don’t just glob it on and immediately stick the false lash to your eyelid. You’ve always got to maintain a perfect balance when it comes to time as far as the glue is concerned, i.e., you’ll have to wait until it gets a little dry, but again, not for too long. About 30 seconds should be enough. During these 30 seconds, you can slightly bend the strip to make the ends kiss. This distributes the adhesive evenly towards the ends as well which keeps their ends from lifting once you wear them.
Don’t look straight ahead but downward into a mirror
The hardest part for most people when applying false lashes is where they have to plop the strip onto their lash line close enough so that its right on top but doesn’t tangle up with their natural lashes. The trick here is to place a mirror under your face nearly to a perpendicular angle and look down so that your eyelid extends almost like you’re closing your eyes, but you’ll be able to see exactly where the strip should be placed. Don’t close your eyes while applying your false lashes as it changes the shape of your eye altogether.
Use eyeliner to hide imperfections
Now that you’ve got your lashes on, the next step is to make your fake lashes look more natural and less fake. Take your eyeliner and draw a line extending the band from where it begins right to the inner corner of your eye. You can also flick your eyeliner at the end to give it that cat-eye or winged effect. This step plays an important role as it blends the line of the band into your lash line.
You’re now ready to take down the world with your newly affixed luxurious eyeball visors. False lashes amp up your look manifolds, making all the effort worthwhile in the end. All you need is a little bit of practice and patience to be able to master the art.
