The Top Performed Plastic Surgeries

The plastic surgery industry is increasing in popularity every year. With almost 2 million surgical procedures taking place in the U.S. alone, more and more people, both men and women, are opting for cosmetic treatments. With the latest innovations in the industry, there are many options to choose from. But remember, it’s important to talk with your health care professional to determine which of these procedures is right for you.

These are the top three cosmetic treatments performed in plastic surgeons offices:

1. Liposuction
Liposuction is performed under general anesthesia and is considered out-patient surgery. It is not a weight loss tool, rather a procedure that is best for those that are close to their ideal body weight. The treatment allows the plastic surgeon to contour the patient’s body and remove fat from hard to target areas. The best candidates for the procedure regularly workout and have a good diet to maintain the results from the treatment. While it permanently removes fat cells from the targeted area, it will not keep you from putting weight on in other places.

2. Botox
Botox is a product that is made from the toxin Clostridium botulinum. This is a powerful poison that is responsible for botulism. Plastic surgeons can use this toxin in small doses to temporarily reduce wrinkles and creases on the face. This popular injection takes a few days for the full effect to set in and fully relax the facial muscles to smooth out wrinkles. There is no downtime with the procedure. The results can last anywhere from three to six months. Each patient will have different results.

3. CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive alternative to lipo. The ideal candidate for this procedure has pinchable fat. It’s an in-office treatment that takes between 35-60 minutes per treated area. This treatment uses a device that sucks fat in between the panels where the fat is subjected to freezing conditions. After the fat is exposed to freezing temperatures for the allotted time, the assistant will massage the area. The massage will break up the dead fat cells and allow the body to dispose of them. It can take up to three weeks to start seeing results and up to six months before final results are known. Depending on the area you are targeting, you may need to have more than one treatment to reach your desired results.
